When was the first tightrope walk across Niagara Falls?
Niagara Falls was host to the famous "Blondin" (aka. Jean-Francoise Gravelet) who was and probably still is the worlds most amazing funambulist, or tight-rope walker. Despite all the negative media attention he was recieving Blondin did what he said he would do, twice in the same day. He crossed Niagara Falls on his high wire on June 30th 1859 and afterwards, on the same day, he turned around and walked the wire back to the other side where he started.
